Part 6 : Blossom Time
Part 6 : Blossom Time
You drifted to sleep, shedding all about
Ground beneath swathed in your cast off coat
Though soon to be gone, soft wind scattered
As winter comes by, sleep silently protects
White frosts adorn, new beauty given
Then damp wraps around, cloying about
Shiver as I do, you sleep through
Magnificently proud, such eagerness beneath
Memories only till rebirth comes round
Maybe the last, but seemingly not
Trust in nature to regain new life
Would humans too? a delicate question…
Now birds alight your swaying limbs
So easily seen, through spidery branches
That beauty so evident, that skeletal frame
No matter how felt, feel life deep within
Sun gaining stature
Days stretch longer
First buds revealed countless more to adorn
Days passing by, life grows stronger
Buds turn to blossom ,greens turns pink
Maturity nigh, new coat a delight
Return to impress, herald your coming
Year on year a marker in time
….The cherry tree waves, I smile once more.
