The Grand Attraction!
The Grand Attraction!
A pair of House Sparrows go for broke in a dozen movements,
Up above the brambles on the corner of the fence!
He chases off jealous rivals between each encounter,
While she patiently waits as they have done years hence!
The male Woodpigeons bow and waft their attentions,
Fanning their wings and tails in awesome display!
Dazzling with their colours a purple green shimmer,
Dancing in the sunlight and brightening the day!
The bugs and the beasts – they enjoy their feasts,
While the Crows desert their chimney pots and head for the trees!
Out into the open to live the adventure of living nature,
Enriching the tapestry with the insects and the Bees!
The Ring Necked Doves quietly go about their business,
Their familiar nooks and crannies on the mend!
Building to a crescendo with little mouths to feed,
Following with the cycle – the lust for life – and on ‘til season’s end!
The rain a tip a tapping in short sharp showers,
Running its timely rhythms across the roof!
Before passing on with the tide of the cloud-cover,
Spring in action – the grand attraction – ain’t that just the truth!
