Paviland kindly does the honours and escorts me to the Grove – as he follows his familiar trail,
Contemplating how the time and the seasons passed – consigned to history – long lost to no avail!
Greeted by an opening on a new perspective – hiding amongst the shadows a brand-new view,
The evolution of a footprint expanding with time – a dream becomes reality slowly coming to!

A welcome from the Gatekeeper as we step inside – and we are breathing in of the seasonal air,
The low hanging Blackberry droplets – swelling with pride – plentiful for all and plenty to share!
There’s a wistful wander complete with guided tour – where proposition builds its plan,
The sun peers through the subtle breaks in the cloud – touching the heart of man!

A Pheasant rumbles – beyond the southern fence-line – with a subtle welcome to nature’s hold,
The Autumn Equinox light – in its wash so bright – a shimmering veil of vibrant gold!
Connections re-acquainted with evolving views – painting a portrait and capturing the still,
Swaddled deep with scenery – in the palm of a hand – a sanctuary of shelter begets free will!

Settling in the seating be it lunch for some – a seasoned gathering sharing memory’s tales,
Admiring the maturity where the end of summer draws its line – and the dark half sets its sails!
Preparations rekindled – the mark of celebration – building to a crescendo as only nature can,
Tradition meets its moment – musing our thoughts in sweet repose – touching the heart of man!

With hedgerow harvested for ceremonial offerings – the flaming lanterns begin to dance,
Fragrant incense smoulders in drifting plumes – with breathless breezes giving up the chance!
Filling the senses with emotional connections – preparation completed and served in the round,
Joining in the chorus that processes with the serpent – as the original sun gong rings with sound!

Centred sentinels re-acquainted with the Silver Birches – sharing the magic of their touch,
Taking up time honoured perspectives with contented smiles – a connection that means so much!
Bonding with nature – becoming a whole with the harmonies – with each and everyone a fan,
Warming the mind and spirit with our personal understanding – touching the heart of man!

With both free-range foraging and formal festivities – sharing the day on the seasonal ride,
Feasting on Blackberries and Apples – giving thanks for our blessings – catching the seasonal tide!
Raising many a toast – the pride feels it the most – with the Mead and its warm honey glow,
The taste of the Blackberry wine – it blends in just fine – with the Autumn Equinox flow!

There’s the flicker of flame – in the Ancestor’s name – and we are feeling the connection within,
With the thrill of the chase – our memories race – soaking the life of the sun through our skin!
Welcome the entrance of the ‘Season of the Apple Tree’ – as we timely step into its span,
With the leaves yet to turn and tumble – come the Autumn rains – touching the heart of man!
