In the Green!
In the Green!
I bid you fair welcome on this morn and I bring with me the Sun,
The buzzard’s circle and call their greeting – how I feel as one!
With the welcome of the blooming – of the blossom’s and their touch,
You adorn the Trees of fruit and nut and I feel you oh so much!
With joy I walk the lap of honour with the smile of the serene,
With the energy of the flow of life – a vision in the Green!
I break my fast and breathe in the moment – the pollen on the breeze,
Engulfed within the birdsong from the shelter of the Trees!
Robin flits through the branches of the Silver birch and on from stone to stone,
Surveying the Grove from infinite angles how the birth of spring has grown!
The workers wander in meaningful moments – Preparation is to preen,
The fire-pit warms with the making of ash – fire dancing in the Green!
With the fire of the day burning down to a smoulder – the stones are dressed,
The pathways prepared with the grass of the circle – this moment is blessed!
With the onset of the early evening I gather up my words,
I break my bread with food for thought and a moment with the birds!
The bumbles this day are busy in their being as they weave away the scene,
With their relative variations they to and fro – while I’m painting in the Green!
