Part 14: A Special Log
Dated 6 June 2020
A forest gift came our way during a recent walk. Its option was to rot so we gladly accepted, having a useful role for the remains of this once proud fir tree.
The decision was to create a light holder, protected from wind and rain. With little preparation needed, just a quick clean and smooth with a handy tool, the chain saw was brought to life. Plunging deep the log opened up, creating a recess suitable for the lamp. A light sand, not wanting to lose its naturalness, was all that was needed. Then a protective skirt to aid its longevity.
Finally secured within our grove, a feature added as we too grow.
