Part 21 : IMBOLC 2021

Discovering a suitable ceremony site
an aged beech sentinel challenges all
alone and upright, standing proud
silently guarding what lies beyond stone walls

Moss coated bark a colourful cloak
silently enduring the test of time
pristine snowdrops around its base
signalling spring arrives apace

Proceeding reverently through iron gate
we tread amongst those guarded within
at rest beneath waves of white
bobbing or hidden in snow as they are
peacefully pleasing to those that see

Green clothed stone, dripping cold tears
but the ancestors are saluted
share in the yellow glow
the comfort of the imbolc light

Found a ceremony site, that nodded in silence
within the drips of rain,
a stream only seen weaving down the hill
nothing stirred the quiet of the place
silence only exaggerated as it flowed
over stone to settle on places
to perfect to adorn with epithets of wild beauty,
pander to with words
when the immediate needs no defining from us
peace seeps back The Silence
when we let alone
