Part 23 : SunPath-1
Part 23: SunPath-1
Although ancient Greeks would have had us believe Helios drove his Sun chariot across the sky each day we now know, thanks to Poland’s 16th century astronomer Copernicus, it to be a myth.
Recalling early Spring of last year I remembered a few SunSet positions local to our home’s landscape, so decided to ‘plot’ them for interest through Spring 2021.
Winter Solstice seemed a suitable time to begin and I eagerly awaited SunSet on 21st Dec, unfortunately the Sun was not playing ball until 29th Dec so that is when I began. Other suitable SunSets presented themselves 23rd Jan / 25th Feb / 18th Mar / 26th Mar.
With the aid of a panoramic photo I have recorded the positions from those few cloud-free days which availed.
The SunSets appear irregularly placed on the photo, due to the variations in hill-side heights, but have a rather interesting and thus pleasing result.
I shall update leading up to Summer Solstice.
