Part 5 : Forest Trail
Part 5 : Forest Trail
An early Spring day beckoned with its subtle blue sky as a backdrop to the arcing Sun, an irresistible combination encouraging us to drop all else and seek countryside peace. A forest trail often seen in passing was to be the destination, solitude promised and found.
Setting off from sweeping bends of a meandering peaty Burn, with its washed away curved banks and new gravel spit deposits opposite, care of regular torrent releasing skies which swelled and reformed its course, our walk began.
Past Dell-guiding feeder waterways, held firm in their courses, though choked by overhanging trees.
Skirting waterholes…. home to abundant frog-spawn, tiny squirming โTadsโ awaiting their time.
Primroses too waiting their time, not surprising for Scotlandโs late spring.
All too soon the forest edge welcomes us back, refreshed after a 2 hour treat.
