Lockdown’s free gift, exercise….stay healthy
So off we go, just thirty minutes stroll
A new day welcomes with sights ever changing
Eyes peeled senses keyed, see nature’s window
Roadside verge teems with pinks, blues and yellows
Screening clear water, running and cool
Lone red deer seen through natural frame
Group of green leaf soldiers marching away
An aged gnarled tree restructured and proud
More glimpses of water, a helpful sign
Notorious Japanese Knotweed I fear
Nobody’s friend sad to hear
Road now stretches to distance afar
Country estate gateway long left ajar
Three swallows returned from time overseas
Welcoming hawthorn so pleasant indeed
