The Forbidden Kingdom!
The Forbidden Kingdom!
The king sits on his throne – beholden to the soundtrack of the Buzzards circling,
Repeating echoes – ring like pealing bells – bringing memories to the fore!
Inspiration painting a myriad of pictures – wrapped within nature’s calling,
While peering out – from under the smothering blanket – it leaves him wanting more!
White Butterflies flitter and dance – as the afternoon light strokes the bramble hedgerow,
The Sparrow rehearses an expression of verses – framed in the vision of the autumn Sun!
The seasonal sun-wise – wax and waning – a final flourish to warm the winds a bluster,
One more temperature rise – due to clear the skies – before we know autumn has begun!
A ring-necked Dove – weaves a flightpath up above – carving out a twist and turning,
While the Sun highlights the scenery – with the leaves on the cusp of their change!
Crows retreating in their annual ritual – taking up their places among the chimney pots,
A Kingdom witnessed more in sound than vision – from within the home on the range!
Stepping forth and onward blindfold – the fruit trees decadent in their season of display,
The cycle it turns – where the memory churns – walking the high-wire with no safety net!
The Kingdom shrouded in shadowy veils – with watchful windows and random visions,
Hunkered for the long-haul – come the repetition of performance – and it is not over yet!
