The Inner Child!
The Inner Child!
History welcomes the ashes of this fading cycle – the shadows that line the path of foot-fells,
And so Winter draws – in nature’s cause – with the biting of its chills!
There’s the touch of frost – with its whites embossed – ushering the lateness of dawn,
Seasoned Earth it sleeps – as contemplation reaps – preparing the germination of awaking wills!
Taking your breath away – with the cold of the day – painting a vision of life so still,
A mind of words it wanders – in a web of ponders – rolling slowly down the page!
There’s an escape in threads – that run through our heads – provoking the spark of a thought,
Where a memory calls – from the text on the walls – a distinguishing grey that comes with age!
The wind hitches up it sleeves – a random dispersing of the leaves – devoid of colour to fade away,
Blanketing beds and borders – under nature’s orders – feeding the future with their slow release!
Huddled and lying in their bunches – crisp underfoot the Winter crunches – frozen in the freeze,
The pathway grass-way – spikes like stubble – in their tufts of ruffs that rest in peace!
Raindrops heavy in smothering skies – full of impending greys as the sun-wheel dies,
The shaded wash of light – glows a milky crystal – cooling with the wisdom of season’s wish!
The Buzzard’s scout – getting out and about – the watcher – watchful on the thermal plain,
Rising with a presence in sunshine moments – casting reassuring shadows with a defining swish!
The darkness snuggles closer – to aid contemplation – the elements forceful and charging the air,
Running threads of dreams – over hills and streams – for now and forever running wild!
Meditation it calms – wrapped up in its arms – filing thoughts and memories and peace of mind,
With experience it grows – where the spirit it flows – a connection in touch with the inner child!
