The Moon Wakes!
The Moon Wakes!
What whim swore that
the moon would meander on
roll along in infinite space
til it tired – trod away – in times
too far away – for us to be aware
that earth is not eternal – unaware
we hang onto coat-tails of all that’s here,
too scared to stare – to see
life depends on intricate balances to bloom,
Amazing when we look at the moon and
do not see the lessons – in the light,
nothing less that a chunk of it – needs to fall – to wake us
to the uncertain that nothing is sure,
the moving moon waits not – as we wander
in reflections of the light we loan –
pulling the planet as it passes,
riding on roads unruled – unaware
that we have the flare to flourish – leave
delusions that damn, until
unstable earth intervenes – wakes us to the uncertainty of oft
mistaking advances as enhancements,
The Moon will teach a tune that has a timeless taste,
trees too can live in rhythms that rotate – let life flow on,
without delusions that restrict.
