The Seed of Potential!
The Seed of Potential!
The morning mists linger in the crevices – hiding the cleavage to the rolling hills,
The skies of grey – drape a veil over the day – like the tale of a battle of wills!
The welcome of our avenue running over the rise – weaving the way to its end,
We catch up on the news – as we take in the views – with a gathering to attend!
Making an entrance with the Almond radiant – a magnificent spectacle in a sea of buds,
Ripe for the opening leaves and flowers – feeling the rhythm in heart beat thuds!
We settle with the Songbirds – singing in their melodies – and breathe in the equinox air,
A panoramic symphony – a moment’s epiphany – a welcome for everyone there!
A pair of Robins – performing manoeuvres – in and out of the span of the trees,
We walk the outer circle sun-wise – with a meet and greet – to put us at our ease!
The Moon Garden calls us through its aging arch – showing the rigours of time,
Drawing inspiration from best laid plans – when the idea first shone in its prime!
A Wren plays out an adventure in a Silver Birch – as a Bullfinch flashes on by,
Pausing in the Willow – surveying the scene – with matters pressing it’s soon on the fly!
A pair of Magpies criss-cross the Norwest field – catch the eye with shimmering wings,
Feathers all a flurry – sparkling in a hurry – as nature’s beauty calls and sings!
A Red Kite rides the thermals – hovering airspace – in a freeze-frame slow-motion way,
As I head to share a thought with the Bardic Chair – we are honoured with display!
Still is the breeze to the writer’s eye – as I reflect upon my gaze with its familiar view,
Buzzing busy Bumblebees explore the Goat-willow catkins – songbirds do what they do!
Memories – memories – the seed of potential – intent to burst with pride,
The echoes of time-lapse and its remembered smiles – we hold on for the ride!
Pheasant calls – like it’s a guilty pleasure – a silent pressure cooker – a blast of steam,
Remembering the decade with its rings of growth – to the trickle of the stream!
After second breakfast there’s always time for lunch – awaiting kith and kin,
Pre-painted is the picture with the slide of time – as the invited step within!
Serenaded by the calling of the Toads next door – a soundtrack repeating all day,
Daffodils and Snowbells in their random rampage – Primrose pathways walk this way!
The blossom suggestive on the Pear and the Greengage – known to be seasonally shy,
Delicate forms with their dainty features – held in isolation against the sky!
The Dogwood vibrant with its bright green flames – stood to attention tall and strong,
Covered is the twisted Hazel – with its dreadlock catkins – singing its seasonal song!
Hawthorn and hedgerow swell with seasonal subjects – the builders plan their nests,
Contemplation captured in quiet corners – as the trials of journey calmly rests!
Trails of wanderlust – weaving emotional waves – celebrating the joys of Spring,
The flora and fauna – under starter’s order – it’s truly a many splendored thing!
Nature thrives with the life of mortality – connecting us one and all,
Beyond the call of nature the incense smoulders – with the nature of its call!
We circle the ground – take our place in the round – relaxing with the Trees,
At this time – we sow our seed of potential – within and without with no guarantees!
With a final toast – we commend our host – before retiring whence we came,
There are miles and miles of contented smiles – spring has sprung to great acclaim!
The Equinox Sun – hides behind the cloud for fun – adding to the sense of play,
There’s a post-box moment worthy of a mention – to add a smile at the end of the day!
