A Day in the Sun!
A Day in the Sun!
Hidden is the secret garden – gone for none to see,
Enclosed within the growth of greenery – that opens up to me!
Blooming is the onset welcome – that stands before my gaze,
All around us full of action – with the tending of the hays!
The birdsong fills with a mass of passion – sounding in the scene,
A gathering of too many to mention – lost within the green!
Dragonflies dance a Toing and Froing – in a multitude of grace,
Scanning the Grove to take up a viewpoint – a flit from place to place!
The Damsels too, they glide on through – all with colours set to shine,
Gentle is the whirring of a flurry of wingtips – restful and sublime!
The bumble of bees in a wide ranging collective – caressing the clover flowers,
Weaving their way through the Poppies and Foxgloves – putting in the hours!
The intoxicating smell of the fresh cut grass – as it wafts upon the breeze,
Swelling is the fruit of the early seasons – weighing down the trees!
Wrestling in the margins of the Holly Garden – and in amongst the grass,
A young toad stirs, watchful and deliberate – on a journey yet to pass!
